Privacy Policy — HTML Validator

Publisher: Nexsage · Extension: HTML Validator — On-Device · Last updated: 31 July 2026

Short version: validating a page happens entirely on your device — your page content never leaves your browser. The extension collects only anonymous usage statistics, and you can turn that off at any time.

What we do NOT collect

What we collect (anonymous, opt-out)

To understand which features are used and where to focus fixes, the extension sends a small amount of anonymous usage data to our own server (crx-api.nexsage.com):

How the data is used

Only in aggregate, to measure adoption, prioritize improvements, and spot errors. If enabled by the publisher, the same anonymous events may also be forwarded, server-side, to Google Analytics 4 purely for aggregate reporting. The extension itself does not load any Google or third-party tracking code.

Your choice

Analytics is on by default and disclosed on first run. You can turn it off any time: open the extension's Settings and switch off "Share anonymous usage statistics." When off, no usage data is sent.

Data retention

Anonymous, aggregate event records are retained only as long as needed for product analytics and may be periodically purged. Because the data contains no personal identifiers, it cannot be traced back to an individual.

Permissions

The extension requests only activeTab, scripting, and storage. It reads a page's markup only when you click "Validate this page," and that reading happens locally on your device.
